Colour, straight images

Both of these images feature colour through the use of rainbow colours. Each object is an everyday object that is made exciting through its colour pallet. The colours create contrasts with each other and cause the image to be more visually striking.

These images are great examples of colour as they are featured in different forms. it is clear to see how the pictures can be so different from different aspects of the photo. at different times of day you are able to capture vast and diverse colours in the different lights. it is also apparent that we can see how multiple colours can be seamlessly blended together in both colour in nature and colour in urban environments. Colours can also become a central theme in the image. Some of there images above focus on specific colours such as blue or orange. This can be achieved by editing the images after through photoshop and adding a filter or enhancing colours.

The definition:

-the property possessed by an object of producing different sensations on the eye as a result of the way it reflects or emits light.
-pigmentation of the skin, especially as an indication of someone's race.

Personal definition:

-the shade of something that we associate with a colour.

I chose these images because they show extremely diverse colours in nature. the parrot shows bold, separate colours that slowly fade into each other. the second picture shows a great example of colours  with the light from the sun dramatically adding to the different shades as it slightly breaches through the leaves.

i chose these two photos as they both represent colour in environments and there are multiple factors t these photos that contribute to the colour in the photo. each photo offers a good variation of colour in the balloons and in the paint on the walls. what makes these photos special is the way the different lights play parts in the photos to blend them together. the sky in the background of the first photo shines straight through each balloon creating a brighter colour pallet. in the second photo, the street lights offer different shades of colour as the light bounces off the walls. meanwhile, the sunset in the background gives the picture a slightly purple and pink filter that blends each aspect of the photo into one.

this photo features a complex structure that is lined with tinted glass that has been arranged in a spectrum of colours. this photo shows the way that the colours run together extremely smoothly. the light in the photo also causes an amazing pattern to be cast onto the floor revealing a plethora of colour that could not be seen before.

colour evaluation

we were set with the task of capturing photos that represented colour around us in the environment. In my search i was able to find some good examples of colour in the form of paint on buildings, plant life and more. i also took the time to go home and add some more pictures to make another contact sheet with images from my garden. Once i had completed the task set i made a contact sheet of all of the photos that i had taken and also edited four of the best photos out of them all. overall i found this turned out quite successful as i was able to show colour in a variety of ways.

i chose these two images out of all of my examples because i feel that they are great examples of colour in different forms. The first image shows an example of colour in nature. You can see how the petals on the flower give a vibrant pink colour to the picture. You can also see how light plays a dramatic role in the picture, as the simple green colour of the plants are changed and given a bright glow, adding a more diverse colour pallet to the photo. The second image is of a building with chipped panelling. within the chipped paint, more colour is revealed and fades from a dark red to a clear white. i decided to get a close up image in order to completely fill the frame with this interesting colour patter and design.

Progression:

If I could change one thing about my photos it would be the conditions in which they were taken. I feel that the images could be of a better quality if i had chosen a day with better weather to take the photos in order to make the colour in the picture seem more vibrant and clear than it would be on a cloudy day. This topic has allowed me to focus on different colours that may cause an image to appear more striking.
