Form, definition post


Definition:

-the visible shape or configuration of something.
-the body or shape of a person or animal.
-style, design, and arrangement in an artistic work as distinct from its content.

Personal Definition:

-Form is a 3D object presented with shadows and shading

This image features form in a city setting. The shadow in this photo is extremely prominent due to the black and white filter that has been used. the reflections off of the windows in this image act in parallel to the dark tones of the shadows and really give the buildings a 3D look.


This photo shows form on a small scale that uses the simple cubed shape of dice to create a 3d image. shadows are effectively used in smaller circumstance that acts opposite the white of the dice to make the 3D more effective.


This image shows form in on a mask. The heavy use of shadows in this photo exaggerate the shape of the mask. The material of the mask gently reflects the light in the photo in a way that shows all of the curves of the mask clearly showing that it is a 3D object.


This image shows form in nature and on a living creature. The grass on the hill show that the floor is uneven. The fur on the animal reflects the light slightly, giving it a a darker shading in some areas that give it a 3D appearance.
