depth, definition post


Definition:

-The distance from the top or surface to the bottom of something
-The quality of being intense or extreme

Personal Definition:

-How an object appears over a distance

Describing Words:

-Bottomless
-Deep
-Profound
-Shallow


This picture shows a natural example of depth. This image is interesting because it shows a wide landscape shot that fills the frame but the details of the image get smaller as the distance increases.


This is an interesting example of depth because the focus of the camera has been used to emphasise the distance of the bulbs. 


This is a good example of depth as there are multiple points in the photo that are used to create it. Things like the handrails have been used to show you the difference between the same object at different distances. you can see how the scene becomes smaller over a greater distance in the photo as a result of this.


This is an example of depth in an everyday environment. we would overlook these examples in everyday life but the photo clearly shows a sense of depth on a much smaller scale as you can see the chain in the photo appears to change the same way that an object would over a larger distance.
